Cosmetic Nurse

Helen Manis follows these words: “Nature and creation inspire art and artistic proportions. I simply integrate anatomy and art when defining your beauty.”

Helen joined the esthetic medicine field in Toronto in 1992, working with Dr. Larry Freemont in hair restoration; in 1995, she completed her laser studies in Austria with Dr. Eli Tamir. Helen then worked with Dr. David Ellis, in Toronto, by assisting in surgical and non-surgical anti-aging interventions.

In 2005, she conducted research with Dr. Ellis and Dr. Linda Maxwell on acne rosacea and a 532nm DioLite laser with retinaldehyde. This research was published in the Journal of Dermatology, which highlighted the innovative approach of treating unsightly telangiectasia and rosacea with cosmeceuticals and laser modalities.

Helen then moved into private practice in 2008 with Dr. Lorne Segall in Toronto, where she specialized in injectable and non-invasive skin rejuvenation. Services ranged from injectable PRP sclerotherapy and medical needling scar reduction, to all laser modalities from Erbium, Diode, Yang, Alexandrite, Ruby, Q-switch, IPL and more.

Helen graduated with honours in nursing from George Brown College in 2010. As a long-standing, accomplished professional, she has contributed to education, research and safety in the esthetic medicine field. Throughout her 20+ years of expertise, Helen continued to enrol in cadaver courses, international meetings and pharmaceutical training sessions. Because Helen eagerly shares her professionalism with others, new nurses consider Helen as a mentor in the industry.
